update: on a completely different gear, just found a link to the digital copy of the letter that tons law profs wrote to Mr. Harper about the constitutional implications if he desides to exclude same sex couples from the definition of marriage - in order to do so legally he would have to invoke the notwithstanding clause. heard about this a while ago but didn't know the link. nice work by a law prof at uvic gillian calder
