This article from Wired explains how women are missing from the podcast scene -- with a overwhelming majority of the podcasters and listeners men it will greatly affect what is being podcasted, what podcasts get sponsors and what podcasts get popular.
They blame it on the fact that most tech geeks are men (and since it is a new medium they tend to jump on it first) and that there are some creeps out there that feel compelled to stalk women podcaster's. I listen to at least one a day (they are great to listen to before bed - just hit the sheets 1/2 hour early) since you download the clip (usually about 30 minutes long) and either listen to it from your computer or transfer it to your mp3 player. It is just like listener to a radio talk show except the content is way better (you can choose shows about topics that you like!) and there are little to no ads.
